Janie began her banking career while attending high school in Kent. She spent ten years in branch operations before transitioning to commercial lending. She has been helping small businesses meet their financing needs for over twenty years in the greater Puget Sound area.

Her expertise in working with multiple government based loan programs has enabled many people achieve their dream of owning and operating a small business; and has enabled existing business owners to successfully expand their operations. Her work history is complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and a Masters of Business Administration.

She shares her business knowledge through financing presentations for the Senior Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) and the US Small Business Administration; and teaching an "Alternative Sources of Financing" class at Bellevue College. She also supports the community by serving on the boards of the Rotary Club of Kent, the Kent Downtown Partnership, and Cascade Leadership Challenge.
