An SBA 504 loan is a tool for economic development that allows businesses to retain cash for working capital. It provides a growing business with fixed rate financing for major assets such as land and buildings. Typically, a 504 project includes a loan from a lender like Harborstone that covers up to 50% of the cost, a junior loan from the CDC covering up to 40%, and a contribution of 10% from the borrower.
