Give young savers and spenders a place to build smart financial habits with accounts designed for every stage of growing up. Youth accounts must be opened in a branch.
  • Our Teen Checking Account is designed for teens age 13 to 17 to teach responsibility and financial awareness while fostering the value of a community credit union.

    It includes up to 10 free withdrawals at any out-of-network ATM and only $1 per withdrawal after that.

    To qualify, the account holder must:

    • Be between the ages of 13 and 17.
    • Have a member over age of 18 as a joint account holder.
    • Have a valid government-issued identification.
    • Open a regular savings or minor savings account first.

  • Share accounts at Harborstone Credit Union are insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a federal agency backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government.

    A member of a federally insured credit union has never lost one penny of insured savings.

  • You will be issued a debit card automatically when you open a checking account.

    If you already have a checking account but did not choose to receive a debit card previously, contact us to order it.

  • To change the PIN for your debit card, call Valera Card Services at 1-888-886-0083.

    Please have your full debit card number, date of birth, and Social Security Number (SSN) ready if prompted.

    When presented the "Enter PIN" option, please enter a new PIN number.
