Vehicle and Auto Loans

You can apply online to refinance your auto loan. If you're already a member, follow the steps below:

1. Log in to Online Banking. 
2. Choose My Offers in the Loan Center. 
3. Select any preapproval offers listed or click on the Auto Refinance icon to apply. 
4. Complete the application with your vehicle and loan information.

Harborstone will process your application and contact you to discuss your lending options. You can also call Member Services at 1-800-523-3641 or schedule an appointment at a local branch. Please be prepared with the following information:

• Existing lien holder
• Existing account number
• Approximate payoff amount
• Current odometer reading
• Vehicle registration
• Proof of insurance

If you have an auto loan through Harborstone, the vehicle must have continuous insurance coverage with no lapse(s) over the entire duration of the loan.

Additionally, the policy must include:

• Harborstone Credit Union's name as lienholder
• A loss payable clause with Harborstone Credit Union listed as the payee
• Comprehensive and collision coverage (or physical damage)
• A maximum deductible of $1,000 or 1% of the insured value for vessels, whichever is greater
• No excluded drivers

Please note that we cannot accept insurance cards as proof of insurance. You must send us a copy of your insurance binder, declarations page, or other verification of insurance that includes all of the information above.

Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) is an affordable coverage that helps pay the difference between what your insurance covers and your remaining loan balance if your car is totaled or stolen.

If you choose to add this coverage, the GAP insurance will be added to your loan's principal balance.

You will receive your car title in the mail once you have fully paid of the loan. The Washington Department of Licensing will mail it directly to you, and titles typically arrive within four to six weeks. Please make sure your address is current with Harborstone, because the department will send the title to the address we have on file at the time it's released.
